Prior to fabrication, our clients are required review and approve stone for color, grain, and template layout at DMG, even if it was previously approved at the stone supplier. DMG will be unable to fabricate without a signed final approval by our client. However, we will gladly fabricate our clients stone with the understanding that our clients will be fully responsible for the finished product. Jobs will be templated exclusively by our craftsmen from DMG. Our clients must provide detailed prints if working with a contractor or architect. We do not take responsibility for any mismatch on our client’s own template and/or drawings or prints. Clients are required to furnish DMG with all items such as cook tops, sinks, faucets, soap dispensers, etc which require cutouts or holes to be cut into the stone at the time of templating. Our clients are fully responsible for assuring that all sinks, cook tops and hardware will fit in the cabinet openings.
Our expertise is in the fabricating and installation of natural stone and not in plumbing, electrical, or cabinet construction.
Therefore we do not:
Access to the installation site will dictate size and weight limitations on pieces to be fabricated. Safe access to installation location is required, i.e. cleared pathways, permanent stairs in place, slippery surfaces properly covered, etc. All cabinets must be completely installed, leveled, and clear of all projections. All moldings (windows, doors, etc.) which will hinder installation, must be removed and replaced by customer.
For a cold weather installation heat is required to allow adhesives on seams and sinks to properly cure and to prevent voiding of the seam warranty. With the exception of glass, DMG will attach and seal under mount sinks.In new buildings, seams might misalign, and loosen the seam adhesive, because a house will normally settle down a little. We will attach and seal under mount sinks. (We will attach sinks with clippers and screws). Stone joints will be approximately 3/32” to plus or minus 1/32” wide. The installer will color match joint (seam) based on his experience and judgment. DMG applies one coat of sealer to the stone when fabrication is completed. It is strongly recommended that our clients reseal or check yearly after that DMG is not responsible for any damage done to stone, seals, or seams by other tradesmen working on, or around, stone after the installation. Clients should advise any and all outside workers in the area of our stone installation that any misuse can could cause any damage will void our warranty.
Finished edges are calculated by linear foot with pencil/eased edge being the lowest price. Dupont, Ogee and other customized edges are more expensive. Cutouts are needed for sinks, cook tops, faucets, down draft vents, tubs, soap dispensers, etc. Costs vary for sink cutouts, cooktops, as well as for an under mount Jacuzzi. The cost per square foot for vanities is normally higher than kitchens because of the number of cutouts spread over a smaller number of square feet. The average vanity is 12 square feet.
Different processes can create different looks and texture to natural stone. A polished finish is a high gloss look that can be created on granite, marble and some dense limestone. A honed finish is a smooth but dull finish, which can be achieved on any stone. Brushed finishes are rough and bumpy. There are also many styles of finished edges available.

Pricing is driven by many factors, the type of stone and amount necessary for the project, type of edges selected, as well as the labor involved. The final price will be calculated taking all this information into consideration. We will confirm with our client the type of stone and edging they have selected prior to fabrication.

Once the estimate has final approval by our client, we will require a 50% deposit prior to ordering the slabs for the project. Payment in full is expected upon completion of the installation Under normal circumstances, it will usually take us up to 10 business days to fabricate and install the project after templating.
Please Note: If additional trips are required due to the above conditions and requirements not being met, DMG will charge for labor and time for any and all return trips
